Storage Post's New York Facilities Collecting Coat Donations for New York Cares

ATLANTA, Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second year, Storage Post Self Storage is partnering with New York Cares to bring coats to New Yorkers in need during New York Cares' 24^th Annual Coat Drive. Every Storage Post New York location is an official public collection site for coat donations. In the aftermath of storm Sandy, the coat drive has kicked off one week early, and the collection goal for total coats donated between November 6, 2012 and December 31, 2012 has doubled to 200,000.

In addition to hosting private collection at its self storage facilities, Storage Post donated 300 collection boxes to New York Cares to be distributed amongst public collections sites in New York, like the New York Police Department precincts. With its storage capacity and moving trucks, Storage Post will also act as a drop-off hub and delivery service for other community groups hosting collections.

In 2011, Storage Post privately collected more than 2,000 coats in New York Cares' Coat Drive, and delivered nearly 2,500 additional coats for group collections that lacked transportation. Storage Post's contributions to the men, women and children of New York earned it a 2011 Winter Warmth Award as the largest new coat collector.

To participate in the relief effort, bring freshly-laundered and gently-used coats to your nearest Storage Post location. Collection boxes will be prominently displayed in the front offices throughout the boroughs of Queens, Brooklyn, Westchester and the Bronx.
