Storage Post Self Storage Warms More Than 4500 New Yorkers During Coat Drive

ATLANTA, Feb. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Storage Post Self Storage joined with New York Cares to bring coats to New Yorkers in need for New York Cares' 23rd Annual Coat Drive. Twelve Storage Post locations participated to collect a total of 2,195 coats in December 2011. In appreciation, New York Cares awarded Storage Post with a Winter Warmth Award as the largest new coat collector contributing to the coat drive.

In addition to collecting coats, each Storage Post New York location was also a drop-off and delivery hub. Local groups participating in the coat drive dropped off their collections at the nearest Storage Post location. Nearly 2,500 community-collected coats were delivered to the New York Cares warehouse on Storage Post moving trucks.

"Participating in the coat drive with New York Cares was exciting and rewarding for our entire organization. The team members at our New York locations were really motivated to work with such a passionate company and their community-driven goals," said Susie O'Connell, vice president of communications at Storage Post. The New York Cares Coat Drive collected and distributed 76,809 coats to families and individuals throughout New York, almost 20,000 more coats than the previous year. Storage Post was responsible for delivering nearly 6 percent of the total collected coats, and was active in promoting the event in local markets.
