Stop & Shop Issues a Voluntary Recall of CareOne Alcohol Swabs
FAIRFIELD, Conn., Jan. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Following notification from its manufacturer, Stop & Shop Supermarket Company has announced a voluntary recall of its CareOne Alcohol Swabs and CareOne Alcohol Swabs with Pain Relief. The items were removed from store shelves because of potential Bacillus cereus bacterial contamination.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- CareOne Alcohol Swabs, UPC 4152031367, 100 count
- CareOne Alcohol Swabs with Pain Relief, UPC 4152087570, 80 count
Use of contaminated Alcohol Swabs could lead to life-threatening infections, especially in at risk populations, including immune suppressed and surgical patients. Stop & Shop has received no reports of infections associated with the CareOne product.
Customers who have these products should discard them and bring their purchase receipt to any Stop & Shop for a full refund.
