Stop & Shop Alerts Customers To Voluntary Recall Of Taylor Farms' Broccoli Crunch Salad From Deli Department
PURCHASE, N.Y. and QUINCY, Mass., Oct. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC, upon notification from its supplier, Taylor Farms Maryland, Inc., announced it has removed from sale several varieties of store packaged broccoli crunch salad sold in the deli department, due to possible contamination by listeria monocytogenes.
The following products are included in this recall:
- Broccoli crunch salad, UPC 20889710000, with best if used by dates of October 24 - 28, 2013
- Broccoli crunch salad, UPC 20738530000, with best if used by dates of October 24 - 28, 2013
Stop & Shop has received no reports of illnesses to date. Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Stop & Shop for a full refund.
Listeria is a common organism found in nature. Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease.
