Stop & Shop Alerts Customers to Voluntary Recall by Garden of Eatin
Products recalled due to undeclared allergens
FAIRFIELD, Conn., Feb. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Following notification from its supplier, Garden of Eatin, Stop & Shop has removed from stores several Garden of Eatin brand products. The products may contain wheat and soy, undeclared allergens.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- Garden of Eatin Multi Grain Everything Tortilla Chips, 9 oz., UPC 1583900797
- Garden of Eatin Multi Grain Blues Sea Salt Tortilla Chips, 9 oz., UPC 1583900940
- Garden of Eatin Multi Grain Sea Salt Tortilla Chips, 9 oz., UPC 1583900795
To date, Stop & Shop has received no reports of illness associated with consumption of this product. These products are safe to consume for individuals who do not suffer from a wheat or soy allergy. Customers who have purchased the product should bring their purchase receipt to Stop & Shop for a full refund.
Symptoms of food allergies typically appear from within a few minutes to two hours after a person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic. Allergic reactions can include: hives; flushed skin or rash; tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth; face, tongue, or lip swelling; vomiting and/or diarrhea; abdominal cramps; coughing or wheezing; dizziness and/or lightheadedness; swelling of the throat and vocal cords; difficulty breathing; loss of consciousness.
