NEW YORK, Oct. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/-- Stonestreet Studios (www.stonestreet.net) co-founders/owners, Alyssa R. Bennett and Gary O. Bennett, today announced their 24th year lineup of indie films, pilots and web series that focus on millennial-centric stories with numerous millennial actors. The Bennett wife and husband team oversee all productions and collaborate as writer, producer and director on many of the studios' projects.
"We draw from our years as filmmakers working extensively with talent at the Stonestreet Conservatory. So many of our films this season use a host of amazingly talented young actors and focus on stories that emerge from the millennial mindset," said Gary O. Bennett.
The Bennetts are in the last stages of principal photography for the feature film ReRun, a modern day tribute to It's A Wonderful Life, written by Gary O. Bennett, directed by Alyssa R. Bennet and produced by Stonestreet Productions.
ReRun follows the story of George Benson (Teo Rapp-Olsson), who on one Christmas Day late in his life, gets a chance to relive his past, change the present and perhaps heal his heart.
"It's thrilling to direct and discover a new talent like Teo Rapp-Olsson who is featured playing the young George," said Ms. Bennett.
"His work is so authentic and compelling, he effortlessly takes the audience with him on his entire journey," she added.
Videola is a Bennett team pilot starring Sean Young, Gil Zabarsky, Michael Pemberton and Janet Zarish, now finishing post-production. Videola tells the story of a family with a grisly secret who are struggling to keep their video store afloat, while in search for their missing twin daughter.
"Sean Young gives a twisted and psychologically rich performance. She is an actor whose work has deepened and matured as the camera continues its love affair with her," said director Alyssa R. Bennett.
"Videola introduces Samantha Rothermel, a fantastic new talent who plays the missing sister and her twin. Gil Zabarsky gives an incredibly funny performance, but has a wonderfully dark side mixed in," added Bennett.
The Bennett's feature film The Pack, has just been re-released with a new director's cut as Smoking/Non-Smoking (https://youtu.be/hgw9SK-fkO4). The film is rolling out on multiple platforms including FilmRise, CityofFilms.tv and SnagFilms.com. Smoking/Non-Smoking stars Lucie Arnaz, Elisabeth Moss, Zach Galligan and Adam Ferrara. It was originally released theatrically in New York and LA and featured in the 2012 Toronto Independent Film Festival.
Smoking/Non-Smoking is a suspenseful courtroom drama. When a son testifies against his mother, a predominantly reluctant jury is forced to debate, "Is second hand smoke a murder weapon?"
Fountain & Never (http://on.fb.me/1MGQUCR) is an original short-form web series written and directed by Antonio Macia (Holy Rollers, Affluenza, Anne B. Real) and produced by Stonestreet Studios.
Fountain & Never re-imagines JM Barrie's Peter Pan as a gritty street tale and follows the lives of six foster kids who have aged out of the system, left to struggle on the unforgiving streets of Los Angeles.
The first nine episodes of Fountain & Never will have its premiere screening on November 10th in New York City at Stonestreet Studios.
Film and TV industry professionals interested in attending the November 10th Fountain & Never premiere should contact Stonestreet Studios via [email protected] or (212) 229-0020.
