Stoler Report Brings Together Joe Apfelbaum, Panel of Marketing Experts to Discuss Networking, Strategic Marketing & Communications
NEW YORK, May 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A recent episode of CUNY TV's The Stoler Report featured a diverse panel of marketing experts to discuss networking, strategic marketing, and communications. Guests included Paul Neuman, Chief Inspiration Officer of New York catering mainstay Neuman's Kitchen; Ed Moed, CEO of strategic communications and marketing agency Peppercom Communications; Marshall Haber, Principal of Marshall Haber Creative Design Group, Inc.; and Joe Apfelbaum, CEO of digital marketing agency Ajax Union.
The conversation focused on the changing face of marketing strategy and medium.
"I would say there was a seismic shift when the internet came into play, and it's been accelerating ever since," said Neuman, describing the way in which he's seen marketing strategy change throughout his career.
Another more recent development in marketing strategy several panelists noted is the shift to and importance of storytelling in marketing.
"Brand storytelling has really evolved tremendously," noted Haber. "It used to be clients would come to me and want a simple website. Now everything has to be tied into social and tied into a print campaign they're doing... all the marketing has to funnel out now."
The style of brand storytelling is also increasingly important.
"The story can't be just me-me-me. The story has to be about the customers," said Joe Apfelbaum.
A final point the conversation reinforced was that marketing was still changing rapidly.
In the words of Stoler, "We'll look back on this conversation in a few months and see how much it has evolved."
