Stoel Rives Partner and 1986 Tax Reform Veteran Analyzes Trump Administration Tax Reform
Special report from Gregory F. Jenner sheds light on what may be coming next in U.S. tax policy
WASHINGTON, June 19, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Stoel Rives LLP has tapped its partner and tax nerd Gregory F. Jenner to author a newsletter entitled "Rebooting the Tax Code: Musings of an '86 Act Insider." The newsletter explains the tax reform process and its potential effect on taxpayers. Jenner uses his combined experience in the U.S. Treasury Department and on Capitol Hill to bring a comprehensive understanding of current attempts on tax reforms to his readers.
"The goal is to help our clients understand the proposals, the process, the politics, and sort through the conflicting messages," said Jenner. "We realize that our clients likely will receive information from many sources telling them what the proposals are. I hope to go beyond the 'what' to the 'why,' the 'who,' and the 'how.' In other words, what do developments really mean? Our insight and expertise garnered from decades of tax policy involvement can help them gain clarity on these important issues."
In "Rebooting the Tax Code," Jenner is covering all parts of the tax reform process, including lessons from 1986 tax reform, revenue estimating, budget considerations and budget reconciliation. To access the content, visit the Stoel Rives website or sign up for weekly alerts here.
Jenner began his time in Washington, D.C., as Tax Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance, where he was one of the authors of the Tax Reform Act of 1986. He later served twice at the Treasury Department, first as the Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary (Tax Policy) and later as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy and Acting Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy.
