"As part of my continuing effort to give back to the community, it is my honor to offer free health screenings to Mainers," the Promerica Health President and CEO said. "And as the owner of a leading national healthcare company, it is my responsibility to promote the importance of preventative healthcare."
Aboard the state-of-the-art Promerica Health mobile health-screening unit, two screeners offered tests including total cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure. "This was a very helpful and convenient service to provide," said Falmouth resident Kevin Ward.
In addition to providing free health screenings, Woods spent the morning interacting with hundreds of constituents where he reiterated his pledge to donate his entire U.S. Senate salary (all six years) to various Maine-based charities once elected.
Woods said his work in leading a national healthcare company helps make him the most experienced and knowledgeable senate candidate when Mainers consider issues relating to preventative healthcare outreach. Promerica Health, a TideSmart Global company, helps businesses establish corporate wellness programs and preventative health services, working to reduce healthcare costs while improving community health and wellness.
"Over the last few years we have engaged with people from coast to coast and executed hundreds of thousands of health screenings," Woods said. "I'm excited to be able to bring that experience to Maine, while getting to talk with voters about important issues like healthcare."
Woods will be driving one of the Promerica Health screening vehicles around the state of Maine giving free health screenings to residents at future events. "Issues relating to healthcare here in Maine represent life or death consequences to thousands of Mainers and should not be politicized by an out-of-touch Congress more interested in perpetuating petty conflict than finding meaningful solutions," concluded Woods.
