Steve Farber Named Acting General Manager For WGN-TV, Chicago
CHICAGO, Sept. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Broadcasting today announced that Steve Farber has been named acting general manager for WGN-TV, Chicago, effective immediately. Farber, who is currently VP/Programming Operations for Tribune Broadcasting, is a broadcast veteran who was previously VP/General Manager of CLTV, Tribune Broadcasting's 24-hour cable news operation in Chicago. He takes over from Marty Wilke, who has resigned from WGN-TV.

Farber joined CLTV in 1995 and served various roles of increasing responsibility, including News Director and General Manager. He spearheaded the successful integration of CLTV into WGN-TV in 2009, and served as VP/Operations for WGN-TV/CLTV for two years. As VP/Programming Operations for Tribune Broadcasting, Farber's responsibilities include managing the digital multicast network, Antenna TV, and working on the development of new programming.
Farber is a native of Chicago's northern suburbs and a graduate of The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
