CHICAGO, Nov. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- STEMCON is excited to announce Shaesta Waiz, Founder & Pilot Dreams Soar, Inc., as the official 5th Annual STEMCON (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Conference) keynote speaker in Rosemont, Ill., at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare near downtown Chicago, on April 20, 2018 from 8 am to 4 pm.
Waiz successfully accomplished her mission of flying solo around the world to encourage children to pursue STEM and aviation education. The global solo flight launched May 13, 2017 from Daytona Beach International Airport in a single-engine A36 Beechcraft Bonanza, and has taken her to five continents, 22 countries, 32 outreach events where she inspired over 3,000 children and young adults, to believe in themselves and allow their dreams to soar. Her historic, milestone journey ended 145 days later on Wednesday, October 4 at Daytona International Airport, Sheltair Aviation's fixed-based operation.

STEMCON will offer more than 50 breakout sessions and workshops from leaders in all areas of STEM education who are experts in evidence-based STEM teaching principles. Session topics include Thinking Forward, Project-Based Learning, STEM Education for STEM Careers, Outdoor Learning with STEM and Diversity in STEM Education.
