Steelite International Partners with Martin Kastner of Crucial Detail
Kastner best known for his collaborations with acclaimed chef Grant Atchaz
NEW CASTLE, Pa., May 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Steelite International, a global leader in the manufacturing and supply of innovative tabletop collections for the hospitality market, is pleased to announce a joint venture with Crucial Detail, founded by Martin Kastner to launch innovative and creative serviceware for restaurants. Kastner is best known for his collaboration with acclaimed Chicago chef Grant Achatz of Alinea, Next and Aviary. Questioning convention but never dismissing function as the primary goal, Kastner's designs enhance the food while framing it in an entirely new way. The initial collection will include the Landscape Series, the Sectional, the Miska bowl and the Antiplate. The collections will be launched at the National Restaurant show in Chicago, May 21-24 at Steelite Booth No. 6036.
"Steelite continues to seek the most innovative and creative products for the hospitality market," says John Miles, president of Steelite International. "Our joint venture with Crucial Detail continues our drive to bring cutting edge products to the best chefs in the world."
About Martin Kastner, Designer/Sculptor:
Kastner was contacted by Chef Grant Achatz and charged with designing a delivery system for a frozen Hibiscus Tea. That successful collaboration led to a series of designs for Achatz, all exploring functional ways of improving food delivery and presentation. While function is the primary element of any design project, its conceptual and aesthetic aspects demand equal attention. In 1998, Martin Kastner established Crucial Detail in order to blur the boundary between design and art.
