Steelers? Packers? Pizza! Defense Logistics Agency Provides Deployed Troops Super Bowl Fare
PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Last year's Super Bowl rated as the most-watched event in U.S. television history. There is no doubt that American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan contributed to the ratings as football outpaces other major sports as the overall favorite. This weekend, Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support will help add to this year's experience by providing U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan all the wings, pizza and chili they can handle on Super Bowl Sunday. As deployed troops watch the Steelers vs. Packers game from remote locations throughout those countries, they can feast on fries, jalapeno poppers with cheddar and cream cheese, chicken wings, onion rings, and non-alcoholic beer. No matter which team they are rooting for, a taste of home provided by DLA Troop Support will be a high score on game day.
"We cannot do enough to say thank you to our deployed men and women in uniform sacrificing and serving to protect our way of life here in America. It is our pleasure and honor to serve them up some familiar fare so they can have a full Super Bowl experience before they continue on their mission," said Richard Ellis, acting commander of DLA Troop Support.
