SteelCloud Announces its MobileWorks Secure Platform for Fixmo Sentinel
Appliance for Fixmo Sentinel Delivers DoD Security Compliance for BlackBerry and Android
ASHBURN, Va., Feb. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SteelCloud, Inc. (OTCQB: SCLD.PK), a leading developer of mobility appliance and VMware® solutions, today announced the release of MobileWorks™ for Fixmo Sentinel™, its newest mobile appliance developed for the U.S. Department of Defense. SteelCloud developed this new fully integrated STIG-compliant appliance to help the military quickly respond to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) mandates for the use of Fixmo Sentinel for device integrity and compliance monitoring of BlackBerry® and Android devices.
SteelCloud and Fixmo have established a partnership to deliver this new secure mobile device management and device integrity appliance solution to DoD and federal government customers. The Fixmo Sentinel solution continuously monitors BlackBerry and Android devices with its patented device integrity technology to identify vulnerabilities and policy compliance issues. MobileWorks for Fixmo Sentinel quickly deploys and maintains a secure platform to help customers minimize the new technology learning curve, get Fixmo Sentinel installed quickly in a STIG-compliant environment, and decrease the effort and cost for ongoing support of the application.
"Security is always a primary concern when the DoD introduces new technology," said Brian Hajost, president, and CEO of SteelCloud. "Securing the expanding numbers and types of mobile devices raises new challenges for all concerned. As indicated by the STIG mandate, Fixmo Sentinel is a critical tool in ensuring that the DoD's network and new supported Android mobile devices are protected."
"We're excited about the customer focus that Fixmo Sentinel and our unique device integrity technology are getting now that Fixmo Sentinel is included in both the BlackBerry and the Android STIGs," said Rick Segal, CEO of Fixmo. "For those commands that want an easy to deploy solution for Fixmo Sentinel, SteelCloud has done a tremendous job in simplifying the prerequisite and installation process. Additionally, SteelCloud's STIG360 compliance service provides tremendous ongoing advantages to our customers by helping them start and remain in STIG compliance."
Available as a specialized appliance or as a VMware plug-in, MobileWorks for Fixmo Sentinel deploys in under 60 minutes in a STIG-compliant environment. SteelCloud also offers STIG360™, a compliancy support service that ensures deployed systems are kept up to date with the appropriate STIG and security guidance, significantly reducing the burden on budgets and staff. As a result, military commands are able to re-allocate IT resources to other mission-critical tasks rather than committing weeks or months to manual system deployment, hardening, and maintenance.
SteelCloud can provide all the components necessary to implement a complete STIG-compliant mobile environment including licensed software, CAC readers, and secure Bluetooth headsets. Fixmo solutions are available from SteelCloud and can be acquired via popular contracting vehicles including GSA, CHESS/ITES, and SEWP. For more information, please email [email protected].
