SteelCloud and Fixmo Announce Partnership to Develop STIG Compliant Sentinel Mobility Appliance for the U.S. Military
Appliance Solution to Accelerate Adoption of Fixmo's Industry Leading Technology
NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SteelCloud, Inc. (Pink Sheets: SCLD) a leading developer of mobility appliance and VMware® solutions, and Fixmo®, Inc. a leading provider of integrity assurance software for enterprise mobile devices, today announced a partnership at the 2011 Information Assurance Expo, to deliver a STIG-compliant Fixmo Sentinel™ solution through SteelCloud's proven secure plug-&-play SteelWorks™ appliance technology.
All DoD organizations have a mandate to conform to certain Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides or "STIGs." The SteelCloud SteelWorks appliance saves organizations one to two months of highly technical security work configuring a STIG-compliant environment.
The joint SteelCloud / Fixmo appliance will provide government agencies a Fixmo Sentinel device assurance solution in a common STIG-compliant configuration. The planned SteelCloud / Fixmo solution will be compliant with all the STIGs necessary to implement the Sentinel solution in both secure physical and VMware environments.
An agreement has been reached between the companies to promote their respective products in the government marketplace. Additionally, SteelCloud plans to add the Fixmo Sentinel product to its GSA schedule.
"Sentinel is the next generation of a mobile technology that is already managing critical security functions for thousands of mobile devices within the federal government," said Brian Hajost, SteelCloud President and CEO. "Significant synergies exist between our work with Fixmo and our current SteelWorks BlackBerry appliance offerings. Sentinel ensures organizations stay informed when a mobile device enters a non-policy compliant or compromised state. We are very optimistic that there will be widespread implementation of this new solution."
"We are very excited about our partnership with SteelCloud," said Rick Segal, CEO of Fixmo. "SteelCloud is the leader in architecting and configuring mobile solutions that meet and exceed the security requirements of the US Government. The joint SteelCloud / Fixmo appliance will help our customers significantly reduce the time and cost configuring a fully STIG compliant environment."
SteelCloud plans to complete its GSA contract activities for Fixmo within the next 30 days and to deliver its Sentinel STIG-compliant appliance and VMware offerings this spring. The Company will also be offering its STIG360™ customer support program to its Fixmo DoD customers.
