Statewide Push for Fair Budget Begins This Week

MEDIA, Pa., May 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The CLEAR Coalition, Better Choices Coalition and the Southeastern PA AFL-CIO kick off a statewide Week of Action for a Fair State Budget at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28^th at the Delaware County Courthouse.

Why:  "More reckless budget cuts – such as gutting basic education, higher education, and healthcare for our elderly and most needy – are unconscionable," said Carol Carvalho, Executive Director, Southeastern Pennsylvania Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO.  "Lawmakers need to reject Gov. Corbett's rigid ideology and impose a fair drilling tax on the Marcellus Shale, opt in to Medicaid Expansion, and close corporate tax loopholes."
