WASHINGTON, April 23, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- U.S. Conference of Mayors President Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson today issued the following statement upon the U.S. Senate's confirmation of Loretta Lynch as the Attorney General of the United States:

"The nation's mayors are pleased that the United States Senate today finally confirmed Loretta Lynch as the Attorney General of the United States. As U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Ms. Lynch demonstrated time and again her outstanding prosecutorial skills and her command of the wide range of issues with which the Attorney General must deal -- issues including terrorism, cyber crimes, public corruption, violent crime, financial fraud, and victims' rights.
