"All working families won a major victory when the U.S. Supreme Court denied HealthBridge's application for a stay of an injunction requiring the company to rehire 600 brave striking caregivers. These caregivers were forced to strike in July 2012, when HealthBridge unlawfully imposed a contract that drastically reduced wages and benefits. Now, the nursing home company is saying that it will comply with the injunction. NLRB Regional Director Kreisberg set Friday, February 8 as a deadline for HealthBridge to inform him whether it would comply with the injunction order or risk initiation of contempt proceedings.
HealthBridge and Care One are run by brothers Moshael and Daniel Straus. Both companies have repeatedly shown that they would rather waste endless resources on fighting their own employees-resources that would be better used to provide care. With this victory, the Supreme Court has shown that no matter how rich a company is, they are not exempt from following the law."
