Statement from Raymond M Pocino, Vice President & Eastern Region Manager, Laborers' International Union of North America, LIUNA and Robert Bonanza, Business Manager, Mason Tenders District Council of Greater New York, LIUNA Regarding Governor Andrew Cuomo's 2016 State of the State Address
NEW YORK, Jan. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following statements were released today by Raymond Pocino and Robert Bonanza regarding Governor Cuomo's State of the State Address:
Statement from Raymond Pocino:
Governor Andrew Cuomo is the most visionary governor in the country. He reimagined New York and is investing $100 billion to better our quality of life and provide great middle class jobs.
His list of priorities is not short - rebuilding LaGuardia Airport, constructing the Gateway Tunnel, expanding the Javits Center, investing billions in our roads and bridges, as well as revitalizing New York's mass transit system – but with his leadership, we can continue to accomplish greatness.
Not since the days of Robert Moses and Nelson Rockefeller have we seen an infrastructure agenda as ambitious and creative as the one the Governor has proposed.
His vision for New York is one of inclusion, growth and opportunity for all New Yorkers.
During a time when many of our political leaders consistently resort to the rhetoric of fear and division, Governor Cuomo rises above. He presented an historical, progressive agenda that unites all New Yorkers.
Like all the great leaders before him, Governor Cuomo knows the key to a growing economy and expanding opportunities for working families is through responsible, progressive development. The men and women of the Laborers International Union of North America throughout New York State stand ready to work with the Governor to ensure that his vision for our great State is realized.
Statement by Robert Bonanza:
I want to once again thank and applaud Governor Cuomo for his continuous bold leadership and the progressive vision he has laid out for the state of New York.
His bold vision includes investing $100 billion dollars - creating 250,000 jobs for middle class families – to reimagine a new New York.
Governor Cuomo recognizes that working families help build New York. The good middle-class jobs that will be created by the Governor's ambitious infrastructure agenda will be a major component to the continued growth and prosperity New Yorkers have seen since he has taken office.
The Governor has made middle class job creation a keystone of his plan for the future of New York. The men and women of the Mason Tenders District Council stand ready to work with him on fulfilling that vision.
