Statement by the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, on the Occasion of Canadian Music Week 2012

OTTAWA, March 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ - Canada abounds with musical talent. Canadians know it and so do music lovers around the world. Our country is home to more than 30,000 composers and songwriters. Our music industry creates jobs, generates economic growth across Canada and enriches our lives.

Canadian Music Week provides members of our music industry with an opportunity to celebrate its achievements. It is also an occasion to highlight some of our most popular, creative and innovative artists and music-industry professionals.
