WASHINGTON, June 16, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet, the head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), swore in Douglas J. Kramer as Deputy Administrator of SBA, following his confirmation by the U.S. Senate last week. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the SBA's headquarters in a gathering including agency staff and Deputy Administrator Kramer's family.
"I applaud and thank the U.S. Senate for confirming Douglas J. Kramer as Deputy Administrator of SBA. Doug's confirmation is welcome news for the SBA family and great news for America's small and growing businesses.
"Doug is a doer. His passion for America's entrepreneurs is matched by the acumen he brings from the worlds of both business and government. Doug is a seasoned public servant and instantly becomes a critical agency leader who will be entrusted to help drive policy to modernize the SBA, broaden access to capital and contracts, and increase investment in America's small businesses. I want to thank Chairman Vitter and Ranking Member Shaheen for Doug's confirmation, completing SBA's senior leadership team.
I sincerely congratulate Doug and look forward to continuing to work with him on all SBA and Administration priorities, on behalf of America's 28 million small businesses."
