StarWind releases the next version of its famous StarWind V2V Converter
MIDDLETON, Mass., Oct. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- StarWind Software, a leading provider of hyperconverged solutions, announces the successful release of the latest version of StarWind V2V Converter. This years-proven free software is a favorite among virtualization users – the most convenient and safe way to switch between virtual machine formats.
StarWind V2V Converter is the software that converts VMs from one format to another, basically "copying" them, while the original is kept as is. As opposed to converters typically built into hypervisors, it switches freely from format to format and back, saving much time during migration. As the release notes state, the latest version now has functionality for converting VMDK files directly to VMware ESXi Server, so it is not necessary to use the local machine as a destination for VMDK file and copy it to ESXi server after conversion.
This year has truly been productive for StarWind, full of new releases and updates, and it's not even over yet. While focused on improving StarWind HyperConverged Appliance, the company never forgot about its free products, as all the StarWind V2V Converter users can now see. We were also named a Gartner Cool Vendor for Compute Platforms in the "Cool Vendors for Compute Platforms, 2016" by Andrew Butler, Philip Dawson, George J. Weiss, 26 April 2016, report by Gartner, Inc.
