LAS VEGAS, July 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The second annual Digital World Expo on Sept. 27-29 at the Mirage Events Center embraces education and exploration into new tech development and media. But the show also offers a unique experience for startup companies as one of the dynamic features in the exhibit hall: the Digital Startup Speaker Series.

The Digital Startup Speaker Series is an open invitation for companies under two years old to apply for an opportunity to present new tech-related products, services and business solutions. Each startup will have a 10-minute opportunity to deliver their message in a high-profile environment in front of professionals, decision-makers and venture capitalists.
The series is an established feature of the conference. This year's scale of presentations has expanded to include 32 startup participants. The area boasts VIP seating, a megatron screen for visuals and a new staging environment. This component of the show is something Event Chair Shawn Rorick is particularly excited about.
"The series represents an element of what Digital World Expo is all about," Rorick said. "It's critical in today's fast-moving business environment for professionals to discover and adopt progressive solutions that help them attain business and marketing objectives."
With a surge in recent years for larger, established companies having an affinity for new brands representing technical advancements and new media, Rorick believes the series provides the ideal outlet for startups that might not otherwise have the means to share their message in front of this audience.
Twenty new companies took the stage last year at the series. One startup last year that participated was Tracky, an online open social collaboration platform. Following the series, Tracky has been able to secure funds from angel investors; the most recent contribution was in the sum of $500,000 from Rob Roy, CEO and chairman of Switch, a Las Vegas company which builds and operates the world's most powerful data center and technology ecosystem.
Other companies that participated last year include Rumgr, a location-based buying and selling platform, and ALICE (A Live Interactive Customer Experience) from WinTech.
Digital World Expo seeks to be the ideal forum for innovative services and products. And in an economy that still struggles to find its feet, the Digital Startup Speaker Series could be the opportunity that many small companies are looking for.
