StartApp adds Kibo to Portfolio of Mobile Data Technologies
User insight technology of first-ever acquisition will enable brands to make intelligent mobile decisions
NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- StartApp, an insights-driven mobile technologies company, today announced it has acquired the assets of Kibo, a branded keyboard-based mobile engagement solutions company.
StartApp will add Kibo's technologies to its portfolio of solutions that provide a better understanding of how end-users engage with mobile content and enabling brands to connect with them on deeper levels. "Kibo changed the way end-users interacted with brands by perfecting technologies that enabled enormous amounts of meaningful data to be used in practical and useful ways," said Gil Dudkiewicz, StartApp co-founder and CEO. "Together with StartApp's services and solutions, we're able to fill data gaps with comprehensive insight into users' behaviors and needs for informed decision making."
Kibo investors, including Portuguese professional football mega star Cristiano Ronaldo, were informed August 15. Kibo had raised more than $11 million and earned more than 30 million downloads since launching the technology in 2014.
Kibo's flagship product was a branded keyboard-based platform that incorporated rule-based and statistical algorithms for adaptive completion and prediction. Kibo earned far-reaching acclaim for its mobile software by partnering with brands such as the NBA and Hello Kitty who were able to monetize their branded user-engagements.
This was the first acquisition for StartApp, which since 2010 has organically developed its technologies. Dudkiewicz said the company will continue to consider acquisitions that better help its customers maximize opportunities to engage mobile users.
StartApp will build Kibo technologies into its development of tools that use insights about mobile user behavior to enable companies to execute data-focused, multi-layered mobile strategies and create unique end user experiences.
