Starry Night 8.5K Coming To Los Angeles Nov. 22

ASHEVILLE, N.C., Oct. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation's Starry Night 8.5K is an evening walk/run to help kids battling one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer. Starry Night Los Angeles is coming to Griffith Park on Saturday, Nov. 22.   

More than 28,000 children in the United States are living with a brain tumor. Each of Starry Night's 28,000 steps will shine light on these Stars while raising funds for lifesaving medical research and life-changing family support programs.

Walkers and runners may choose to complete the 8.5K course as an individual or as part of a two-person relay team, with each team member completing one lap. Starry Night also includes activities for kids, entertainment, food and plenty of fun for the whole family.

Participants will also light the nighttime sky with thousands of lanterns to symbolize hope for a cure and honor our Stars.

Starry Night Los Angeles will take place on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Crystal Springs-Pettigrew in Griffith Park. Registration is from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The 8.5K walk/run starts at 3 p.m. The lantern lighting is at 5:30 p.m.

A portion of funds raised will support a family services program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. The honoree for Starry Night Los Angeles is We Can Pediatric Brain Tumor Network.
