Star Line Mackinac Island Hydro-Jet® Ferry to Offer Service Between Mackinaw City and St. Ignace for Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walkers
For the first time, no bus transportation for walkers will be allowed on Mackinac Bridge; Star Line to help by providing new option for walkers to return to starting point
ST. IGNACE, Mich., July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Star Line Mackinac Island Hydro-Jet® Ferry announced it will offer ferry service between Mackinaw City and St. Ignace to provide a convenient option for 2018 Annual Labor Day Bridge Walkers, given Mackinac Bridge will be closed during the Bridge Walk except for emergency vehicles. For the first time, walkers will not have bus transportation to return to their cars once they have walked the entire expanse of the bridge. On Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, Star Line Mackinac Island Hydro-Jet® Ferry will offer departures on the hour between Mackinaw City and St. Ignace making it easy to leave a vehicle in either city and walk the length of the bridge. Each classic ferryboat holds 500 people and will run direct between the two cities from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and cost $20 adults, $10 children 5-12, and kids 4 and under are free.

Every year, between 25,000 and 60,000 people participate in the Labor Day Bridge Walk. This year, participants may start their walk from either end of the Mackinac Bridge beginning at 7:00 a.m.
