Stanislaus County Begins Project to Adopt Industry-Leading Data Management Software to Improve Public Services and Internal Processes
STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Decade Software Company, LLC, longstanding provider of web-based and mobile software applications for regulatory agencies, announced today that the Stanislaus County Division of Environmental Resources has selected Decade to provide data management software for the Division. Decade's enterprise software suite, known as EnvisionConnect, will support the Division as it provides services for a variety of critical regulated Hazardous Materials programs, such as Underground Storage Tanks, Aboveground Petroleum Storage, California Accidental Release (for spills involving Hazardous Materials), and other Hazardous Waste management programs.
Once implemented, the County will use EnvisionConnect and its remote-use counterpart, EnvisionConnect Remote, to conduct inspections in the field on tablet computers and monitor that information back at the office. Beronia Beniamine, the Division's Hazardous Materials Manager, spoke of her expectations for the project. "I'm very excited," she said, "My main goal is to be efficient, consistent, and for our staff to be on the same page. As a manager, EnvisionConnect will help me track their time and our revenue."
When completed, the project will greatly streamline inspection processes and improve productivity, as well as reduce paper. "We used to spend months reconciling our two separate databases before billing. Now with EnvisionConnect, everything is connected. We may even be able to eliminate our paper filing system," says Beniamine.
An important part of the project revolves around exchanging data with the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS). CERS is a statewide web-based system to which specific California agencies (known as Certified Unified Program Agencies, or CUPAs) electronically report various hazardous materials-related data, such as hazardous materials business plans, chemical inventories, site maps, underground and aboveground tank data, and hazardous waste-related data. Decade's application, the CERS Integration Wizard, facilitates the exchange of this critical data with CERS. By automatically curating this data, the CERS Integration Wizard is expected to save Stanislaus County hours of tedious data entry.
Darryl Booth, President of Decade Software, commented on the recent contract: "We are pleased to welcome the County of Stanislaus to our national community of regulatory agencies. With our many years of experience in California environmental protection, we look forward to providing forward-thinking services and advanced technology to the Division."
