Stanford Real Estate Hall of Fame Induction Banquet
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Aug. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Stanford Professionals in Real Estate (SPIRE), an official Stanford University Alumni group with over 1,200 members, will honor the contributions of Stanford alumni Henry Segerstrom and Malin Burnham at the Stanford Real Estate Hall of Fame Induction Banquet in Southern California, September 28, 2012, and on the Stanford University Campus November 9th, 2012.
Southern California icon Henry Segerstrom, Stanford AB'46, MBA'48, built C.J. Segerstrom and Sons into a real estate development and management firm anchored by the world renowned 2.8 million sf shopping center South Coast Plaza, and over 2 million square feet of office and commercial space. Mr. Segerstrom's commitment to philanthropy and the community is evidenced by the 14 acre Segerstrom Center for the Arts that includes Segerstrom Hall, world class environmental sculpture, the future home of the Orange County Museum of Art, and the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.
San Diego's own Malin Burnham, Stanford Class of '49, built Southern California's largest independent real estate brokerage firm, Burnham Real Estate, which was acquired by Cushman & Wakefield in 2008. Mr. Burnham established a billion dollar NYSE retail REIT and was a partner in over 100 commercial developments with an aggregate investment of $1.1 billion. A long time community leader and philanthropist, Mr. Burnham has chaired nine major nonprofits.
Additionally, there will be a memorial tribute to Donald P. Kennedy, Stanford BA '52, former Chairman of First American Financial Corp. who passed away on March 24, 2012.
The Hall of Fame Induction Banquet takes place on September 28th at 6:00 p.m. with a VIP reception and dinner at the Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. The Stanford Real Estate Honors Banquet will take place at Burnham Pavilion on Stanford University campus November 9th.
