Stanford Offers Online Workshops in Innovation for Teams
STANFORD, Calif., Oct. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Gaining a competitive advantage demands that organizations know how to innovate. Stanford University, a leader in innovation education, is now offering organizations the opportunity to bring Stanford into their workplace through a series of online workshops designed for teams. The highly interactive online program, Stanford Innovation at Work, draws upon engineering and design methods pioneered at Stanford as it explores the principles and tactics of design thinking.
Stanford Innovation at Work allows participants to work face-to-face with colleagues in live workshops without having to leave the office. In a series of interactive online videos, instructors lead teams through hands-on exercises in which participants use real challenges from their own organization. Participants are encouraged to get out of their chairs and on their feet—take risks, try new behaviors—and work together to generate creative solutions.
Delivered by the Stanford Center for Professional Development, each workshop is led by Perry Klebahn and Jeremy Utley, d.school directors of executive education, and comes with a companion workbook that includes tools and step-by-step instructions. Activities are fun and engaging and help build a culture of innovation with valuable techniques and approaches to generating and testing new ideas. Teams learn how to transform their organization into a thriving environment where ideas are encouraged and inspiration is implemented.
Learn more about the design thinking tools featured in these workshops by participating in the program's first webinar: Analogous Inspiration: How to Get Great Ideas From the Most Unlikely Places, Monday, November 3, 2014, 10:00am Pacific.
