Standard & Poor's Announces Changes to U.S. Indices
NEW YORK, Jan. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P 500 constituent QLogic Corp. (NASD: QLGC) will replace CommScope Inc. (NYSE: CTV) in the S&P MidCap 400 index, and Noble Corp. (NYSE: NE) will replace QLogic in the S&P 500 after the close of trading on Friday, January 14, 2011. CommScope is being acquired by The Carlyle Group in a deal expected to be completed on or about that date. QLogic's $1.8 billion market capitalization makes this company more representative of the mid cap space.

QLogic engages in the design and supply of storage networking, high performance computing networking, and converged networking infrastructure solutions. Headquartered in Aliso Viejo, CA, the company will be added to the S&P MidCap 400 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Computer Storage & Peripherals Sub-Industry index.
Noble provides offshore contract drilling services for the oil and gas industry. Headquartered in Baar, Switzerland, the company will be added to the S&P 500 GICS Oil & Gas Drilling Sub-Industry index.
