Stand Together Announces New Cohort Of High Impact Nonprofits
Stand Together adds 15 new organizations to its growing network of social entrepreneur-led nonprofits fighting poverty across U.S.
ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Stand Together today announced the seventh class of nonprofits joining its network of more than 100 social change organizations working to break the cycle of poverty in communities across the country. Through a competitive application process, Stand Together selected 15 high-performing nonprofits. These organizations will have the opportunity to grow their impact through a highly-selective six-month training and mentorship program.
"At Stand Together, we are privileged to work with the most innovative, effective nonprofits in the country," said Evan Feinberg, executive director of Stand Together. "We've vetted thousands of organizations to get to the more than 100 partners we have today. These 15 incredible organizations continue to demonstrate that there are transformative efforts in our communities that are helping people to transform their lives. Our job is simple: help them help more."
Stand Together's Catalyst Program brings together nonprofits who have demonstrated an effective approach in addressing one or more of the root drivers of cyclical poverty. These nonprofits are placed in one of six issue-focused portfolios: Addiction and Mental Health; Financial Empowerment and Entrepreneurship; Housing and Homelessness; In-Prison, Reentry and Second Chances; Workforce Development; and Youth and Education.
The program is designed to help nonprofits take a business-like approach to growth and scale. At the core of the program is the Market-Based Management philosophy, which has been successfully implemented by Koch Industries for decades to become one of the most profitable enterprises in the country.
Additionally, alumni of the Catalyst Program gain long-term access to Stand Together's platform, connecting funding and skills-based volunteers to nonprofits as well as national networks of both peer social entrepreneurs and influential philanthropists and business leaders.
Stand Together awards entry into the program, which includes an initial operational grant, through a competitive selection process designed to identify high-performing social change-makers demonstrating an impactful approach in their work, a passionate vision for long-term transformational change, a drive for growth and a healthy organizational culture.
Cohort Seven of the 2019 Catalyst Program will kick off with an opening summit on February 4 in Arlington, Virginia. The organizations selected include:
