Stain it Like You Own it!
Express Yourself with New Stained by Sharpie™ Fabric Markers
OAK BROOK, Ill., June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As Albert Einstein once proclaimed, "Imagination is everything." Now, the innovative minds at Sharpie are empowering Americans to let their imaginations run wild with the introduction of the new Stained by Sharpie™ fabric markers.
A category game-changer, the Stained by Sharpie marker line features a new fade-resistant ink developed for optimal performance on most fabric surfaces; the ink resists fading on most fabrics during normal wash cycles. The markers also boast a versatile brush tip that allows users to create thick or thin lines for ultimate creative precision.
"This innovative new product empowers Sharpie fans to expand their creativity beyond paper mediums onto countless new canvases," said Sally Grimes, global vice president of marketing for Sharpie. "And like other Sharpie products, Stained by Sharpie packs a color punch that can turn white into bright with just the brush of a marker."
Available in eight bright, bold colors, Stained by Sharpie markers can add dazzle to drab jeans, sad sneakers or tired T-shirts. The new fabric-focused marker can also breathe new life into furniture, backpacks, purses and more.
Tips
Each pack of Stained by Sharpie markers comes with a set of user-friendly tips and techniques, including the following:
- Rules: While there are many design rules out there, it's important to ignore them.
- Color: Make a mistake? Throw some layers over it and no one will know the difference.
- People: Drawing people can be tricky…keep a few things in mind…proportion is key. In real life, hands and heads are different sizes. Draw the outfit first then add the rest. When in doubt – stick it out. Stick people are people too.
- Ideas: Choosing your Stain could be tough. Take a look around your room. Call a friend. Listen to some music. Whatever you're into, let it inspire you.
"Sharpie is about creativity and self-expression, so what better way for consumers to make their mark than with this new fabric-friendly line?" added Grimes.
Stained by Sharpie is available wherever office products are sold. The suggested retail price for a 4-pack is $9.78. Product is also available in Sharpie 5- and 8-pack marker sets for suggested retail prices of $12.22 and $19.56, respectively. Color selections include: black, blue, red, green, pink, orange, yellow and purple. They are AP-certified non-toxic. No ironing is required to adhere the ink to the fabric surface. For best results, machine wash marked fabric in cold water and hang dry.
The new Stained line joins 47 years of innovation and inspiration from Sharpie – now the largest writing brand in North America. Today the Sharpie family includes 34 varieties, nine tip sizes and up to 30 assorted colors.
