"A majority of firms on the U.S. largest list appear to have grown their revenue in 2012 over 2011," said Timothy Landhuis, research analyst, Staffing Industry Analysts. "Of firms that appeared on both last year and this year's list, we estimate that these firms' aggregate revenue grew 6%, excluding firms that made a major acquisition. This level of growth is in line with our estimate of 7% growth for the total U.S. staffing industry in 2012."
To qualify for the list, a firm must have generated at least $100 million in staffing revenue during the calendar year 2012. Staffing revenue includes revenue generated from supplying agency temporary workers—the largest category—but also revenue from permanent placement services, retained search, outplacement services, net revenue from professional employer organization (PEO) services, and net revenue from Managed Service Provider (MSP) services.
