Staffing Industry Analysts Announces Certified Contingent Workforce Professional Program
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Staffing Industry Analysts, the leading global advisor on contingent work, announced at its Contingent Workforce Strategies Summit, in San Diego, CA, a new designation for contingent workforce program managers, the Certified Contingent Workforce Professional (CCWP). This is the first certification course available to HR, procurement and staffing professionals who manage contingent labor.
Writing in his blog, Staffing Industry Analysts' VP of Contingent Workforce Strategies and Research, Bryan Pena, stated:
"The role of the contingent workforce manager is evolving. What was once just a part-time human resource role, a category in procurement initiatives or under the purview of the office administrator, has become a full time role.
"Contingent workforce managers need to establish their role and legitimacy in today's corporations. Data shows that many companies are leveraging their growing contingent talent as a strategic resource as well as seeing the benefits in cost savings and risk mitigation that follows effective management. What contingent workforce managers do has value. But to realize that value we need to establish standards. By standards, I mean standards of conduct and standards of knowledge that separate the true practitioner from the amateur."
Certified Contingent Workforce Professional (CCWP) is an accreditation program that assesses knowledge of contingent workforce program management best practices and concepts. It validates mastery in a broad body of knowledge related to managing a contingent workforce.
Designed for corporate contingent staffing professionals, the program is built around an intensive curriculum that presents best practices and concepts in contingent workforce program management. The course consists of 12 modules presented over a period of two days. Each module focuses on a specific subject that addresses real-world scenarios and instructors will use a variety of lectures, training exercises and quizzes. Course instructors are industry-leading contingent workforce professionals with a deep knowledge of the course content. Attendees will be required to attend the two-day course and pass the required online exam in order to become certified.
"The need for certification is compelling," stated Teresa Creech, President, MSP and CWS, Randstad SourceRight. "We believe it is a strategic imperative to have an educated buyer, which is why Randstad SourceRight has agreed to partner with Staffing Industry Analysts on their Certified Contingent Workforce Professional program."
Along with Randstad SourceRight, Staffing Industry Analysts has secured the support of Agile 1, Allegis Group Services, Strategic Staffing Solutions and Volt Consulting Group. "We could not have assembled a better, more supportive group of partners," stated Bryan Pena. "Each one of the partners brings expertise and leadership to the certification program and to ensuring the mission of building greater professionalism to the business of managing contingent labor."
The first course will be given at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, Burlingame, CA on December 5-6, 2012. For more information visit: www.staffingindustry.com/certification.
