Stadium Design and Development Summit Kicks off With Head of FIFA Inspection Group
DOHA, Qatar, May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Global experts in stadium design and development came together in Qatar this morning (23 May 2011) to uncover the latest venue project updates in the run up to the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Industry leaders, including, Harold Mayne Nicholls, Head of FIFA's Inspection Group, Mike Bell, Partner Project Architects, R&L Architects and Dan Meis, Senior Principal at Populous headlined the conference of more than 200 international executives who are shaping the future of stadium design and construction in the region.
The conference addressed some of the most pressing challenges faced by the small gulf state as it begins the implementation of its 2022 bid strategy.
Eugene Van Vurren, Former Technical Advisor of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa Local Organising Committee provided expert guidance and advice on venue design that worked in South Africa last year to VIP guests that included Qatar 2022 Supreme Council and Russia's 2018 Local Organising Committee.
