STAAR Surgical Announces Third Quarter 2011 Results Release Date and Conference Call

MONROVIA, Calif., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- STAAR Surgical Company (NASDAQ: STAA) today announced that it will release its financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2011 on Monday, October 24, 2011 after the market close.  The Company will host a conference call on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. Eastern / 1:30 p.m. Pacific to discuss the Company's third quarter results and recent corporate developments. The call will be broadcast live from the floor of the American Association of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting, which is taking place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida from October 22 through 25, 2011.  The call will also feature surgeons who will discuss their experiences with the most recently introduced STAAR products including the new Visian® ICL™ with CentraFLOW™ technology utilizing the KS-AquaPORT™.  Customers, employees and other attendees at the AAO Meeting will be invited to join the live audience.  

The Company plans to issue a press release on October 20, 2011 which will detail the surgeons who will be participating in the conference call as well as all information for accessing the conference call.
