"After falling in love with Sylvia's Crossfire series, I realized that when someone writes with the kind of emotional power and intensity that Sylvia does, she is the kind of author who can break all records and become a decades-long phenomenon," says Enderlin. "I couldn't be more delighted to publish her here at SMP."
Sally Richardson adds, "I could not think of a better way to celebrate the start of the year. Sylvia is a rare talent. We have long been fans, are excited about publishing her, and look forward to a successful (and fun) future together."
Day's Crossfire series is published by Berkley Books, an imprint of Penguin Group (USA), and has sold over 13 million copies in the English language alone since June 2012. Day's novels took spots among the top ten bestselling books on global year-end sales round ups in both 2012 and 2013, making her one of the most successful authors in the world today.
About the new deal, Day says, "I'm excited to further develop my existing relationship with Macmillan. The Blacklist duology is a project I am very passionate about, and when the St. Martin's Press team approached me, I was captivated with their presentation. I'm thrilled to be bringing Blacklist to my readers in partnership with publisher Jennifer Enderlin and the dedicated, enthusiastic team at St. Martin's."
St. Martin's will publish the first Blacklist novel featuring all new characters in 2015.
