St. Louis Cosmetic Dentist Buying Back Candy as Sweet Treats for Troops
ST. LOUIS, Oct. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- You might find it peculiar that a dentist would be gathering up candy for Halloween, but that's exactly what Dr. Michael Frith and the Masterpiece Smiles staff will be doing November 1 - 7. Together with the help of his young dentistry patients, this St. Louis cosmetic dentist is buying back candy from young trick-or-treaters, offering to pay them $1 for each pound of candy they sell to the St. Louis dentistry office.
The candy buy-back program, which will run out of Masterpiece Smiles' office, will collect wrapped candy from young dentistry patients and send them in care packages to troops overseas as part of the Operation Gratitude program. In addition to collecting candy to send to the troops, Dr. Frith and his team are encouraging kids to include letters or photos in the Operation Gratitude care packages.
"It's a triple win," said Dr. Frith. "Our troops receive a special treat from back home, kids are rewarded for giving back their candy, and moms don't have to worry as much about sugar-overloaded kids and tooth decay."
For more information about the candy buy-back program, you can contact this St. Louis dentistry office, or visit them at 269 Clarkson Road, Ellisville, Mo.
