SEATTLE and MONTVALE, N.J., Oct. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey announced today it will offer its entire football roster the VICIS ZERO1 helmet as an option for the balance of the 2018 football season.
St. Joseph's decision to offer its entire team the ZERO1 is part of a larger commitment from high schools around the country to provide student athletes with the most technologically advanced equipment. In the first half of 2018, more than 1,000 high school programs and 120 professional and college teams have made a commitment to provide the ZERO1 to players for the 2018 season.
"Nothing is more important than protecting our players and ensuring they're put in the best position to protect themselves while playing the game they love," said Augie Hoffmann, St. Joseph Head Football Coach. "St. Joseph is committed to joining the next generation of football programs with a focus on increased safety by providing the ZERO1 as an option to its players."
The ZERO1 is the most technologically advanced helmet on the market, designed to reduce impact forces with a highly engineered structure that differs from traditional football helmets. The helmet has a deformable outer shell and a unique columnar layer designed to slow impact forces like a car bumper, and is the top ranked helmet in the National Football League (NFL) and National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) helmet performance testing, earning the top spot in both 2017 and 2018.
"St. Joseph's commitment to player safety shows why its viewed as one of the premier athletic programs across New Jersey, and we applaud Coach Hoffmann and the entire Green Knights' athletic program," said Dave Marver, VICIS CEO and co-founder.
