St. George's University's Public Health Master's Program Receives Maximum Accreditation

TRUE BLUE, Grenada, Nov. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, St. George's University announced that its Master of Public Health program received accreditation from the Council on Education for Public Health for seven more years -- the maximum re-accreditation term. The accreditation will empower SGU's Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine to continue educating leaders in the global health community.

Established in 1999, the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine has issued more than 700 Master of Public Health degrees.

This re-accreditation is only the latest distinction for the Department, which was named a World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Environmental and Occupational Health, the first of its kind in the Caribbean, in 2012. It's also the only MPH program in the Caribbean that can induct public health workers and MPH graduates into Delta Omega, the world's oldest public health honor society.

The Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, which administers the Graduate Public Health Program, was established in 1999 at St. George's University's School of Medicine.
