St. Cloud Welcomes Dickey's Barbecue Pit With First Location
Country's Fastest Growing Barbecue Chain Expands in Minnesota
ST. CLOUD, Minn., May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit, the largest quick-serve barbecue chain in the country, continues to grow as the plans commence to bring the restaurant to St. Cloud.
"We are both from St. Cloud and it is important that we involve our kids in the aspects of running a business or at least the basics of being responsible and accountable by learning the value of money and how much work it is to earn it. St. Cloud is a hub for our community! St. Cloud draws people into town from 60 miles to shop, eat and entertain," said the new owner/operator Sheila Tepley, Chair of the Sauk Rapids division of the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce, who will run the restaurant with her partner, Dan Stuttgen.
Sheila Tepley and Dan Stuttgen will open this initial St. Cloud location at 2956 West Division #3 in June 2011.
"We are excited to open up a restaurant that believes in good, slow-smoked barbecue and to bring 15 new part-time jobs to our community," said Sheila.
Texas-based Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened in 1941 and began franchising in 1994. Dickey's Barbecue Pit is well-known for their hot pit-smoked signature meats, complimentary ice cream and the big yellow cups.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit will serve up 9 different hickory-smoked meats that are slow cooked every night, along with a vast array of home-style sides to the St. Cloud area.
Since early 2011, Dickey's has opened 12 stores nationwide and 60 are set to open before the end of 2011.
The preparation prior to opening a Dickey's franchise is extensive, ensuring that owner/operators are thoroughly prepared to hit the ground running.

The original Dallas location is still open for business and Dickey's Barbecue Pit is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.
