The school received $5,000 during a special check presentation ceremony on Friday, October 11 with former professional football running back and S&T Bank ambassador Jerome "The Bus" Bettis.

Schools across S&T Bank's 11-county footprint were invited to apply for the "S&T Bank My School, My Award" program. As part of the application, schools were asked how they would use the money to help increase educational opportunities for students. Applications were reviewed by a selection committee made up of S&T Bank personnel and the winner was selected on September 6, 2013.
Woodland Hills High School plans to use the money to develop a team of trained adult and peer tutors. The tutors will work with students in an after-school setting in an effort to empower students, strengthen their academic skills and foster an environment of academic success.
