PALO ALTO, CA, July 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - Space Systems Loral (SSL), a leading provider of innovative satellites and spacecraft systems, today announced that the Intelsat 36 satellite, designed and built for Intelsat S.A (NYSE: I), operator of the world's first Globalized Network, powered by its leading satellite backbone, has arrived at the European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, where it will be launched aboard an Ariane 5 launch vehicle by Arianespace. The satellite will be used to provide media and content distribution services in Africa and South Asia.

Intelsat 36 was designed with both Ku-band and C-band capacity, and will be used to provide direct-to-home television services in Sub-Saharan Africa as well as television program distribution services in South Asia.
