Squaremouth Named Finalist for National Customer Service Award
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Jan. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- St. Petersburg-based, Squaremouth, has been nationally recognized by the American Business Awards as a finalist for Customer Service Department of the Year - Financial Services.
Squaremouth is the software company behind travel insurance comparison site, squaremouth.com. Developing a seamless online experience and providing exceptional customer service are two of the company's steadfast goals. Emphasis on these core values sparked the company's major project of 2016: the development of a customer login portal, built from scratch.
The customer portal combines the convenience of a customer profile, like that of Amazon.com, with the technology needed to assist customers who need to use their insurance while traveling.
"Our goal was not only to help customers find the right policy, but to make sure they had the necessary information at their fingertips if they need help when traveling," said Squaremouth Customer Service Director Jessica Harvey.
Since launching in October, more than 5,000 customers have created an account, with nearly 70% of those going on to purchase a policy.
Customer service has always been the top priority at Squaremouth, where every employee answers customer calls on a weekly basis. The main focus of its 24-hour, in-house customer service call center is "downselling" - their promise to help customers find the least expensive travel insurance policy that meets their coverage needs.
"We don't work on commission, so there isn't any motivation to push a more expensive policy," said Harvey. "Our job is to help each customer find the best policy for their trip, and hopefully save them money in the process."
This is the third time in the past four years that Squaremouth has been named a finalist for a Stevie Award. It won the Bronze Stevie Award for Customer Service Department of the Year in 2016 and the Silver in 2014.
The 2017 winners will be announced at an awards banquet at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Friday, Feb. 24.
