The International Festival is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year at The Claremont Colleges. Held in the main quad of Claremont McKenna College, more than 3,000 people spend the day sampling authentic international cuisine from nearly 30 booths representing the regions and home countries of the international students and scholars at The Claremont Colleges. May 7 – L'Etape du California – Claremont to Mt. Baldy recreational ride |

L'Etape du California provides serious recreational cyclists the opportunity to ride a complete stage of the Amgen Tour of California. Riders will cover the same route as the professionals on Stage 7, from Claremont to the Mt. Baldy Ski Area. By the time riders return to their cars or homes in Claremont, they will have climbed close to 10,000 vertical feet and ridden close to 100 miles. While extremely challenging and requiring a high level of fitness and mental toughness, there will be ample support to help athletes see if they have what it takes to ride the route of the Amgen Tour of California. Join with more than 25,000 racing fans as America's most popular cycling event, the Amgen Tour of California, kicks off its grueling mountain Stage 7 in Claremont. While the official course through the city has yet to be finalized, the route is expected to pass the city's historic Claremont Train Depot and travel through the city's Village streets before heading into the San Gabriel Mountains for a difficult winding climb to Mount Baldy.
