Spotlight Put On Empowering Women And Sustainable Development At UN Headquarters

NEW YORK, June 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The spotlight was put squarely on empowering and inspiring women through interactions in economy, art and fashion between excellent women all over the world Monday at the 2017 Empowering Women and Sustainable Development Summit hosted by the China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF) and the Sino-American Friendship Association (SAFA) at the United Nations Headquarters.

The international list of distinguished speakers, panelists, and attendees included a Minoru Takada, Team Leader of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs; Dr. the Hon. Donna E. Hunte-Cox, Consul General of Barbados in New York; Zhang, MeiFang, Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in New York; Huang, Huijuan, Deputy Director of Public Communication, Department of China Women's Development Foundation; Huang, Hongying, Vice President of  VIP.com; Peter Zhang, President of Sino-American Friendship Association and other special guests from China.

The governor of the NY sent greetings to everyone gathered, noting in his letter that New York State remains committed to achieving equality for women and to ensuring their economic strength and opportunities for advancement in the workplace.

The event celebrated the expanding role of women throughout the world. In bringing attention to the benefits that sustainable development projects can have on improving the quality of life for them and their families. Those participating in this valuable dialogue also discussed how to effect meaningful change in the world.
