LOS ANGELES, Oct. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of the Los Angeles Kings® 2014 Stanley Cup® Championship, Sport Chalet is teaming up with Hockey Fights CancerTM, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and Kings Care Foundation to host the iconic Stanley Cup at Sport Chalet's FIG@7th store located at 735 South Figueroa Street in Los Angeles on Sunday, Oct. 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. Fans will have the rare opportunity to see the Stanley Cup up close and take their photo with it. In addition, Kings alumni will make an appearance from 3 to 4 p.m. on the day of the event. Former Kings defenseman and television broadcaster Sean O'Donnell and former Kings forward and Kings Radio commentator Daryl Evans will be among those in attendance. This event will launch Sport Chalet's commitment to help Hockey Fights Cancer during its annual month-long campaign, Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Month, to support national and local cancer care and research institutions.

From Oct. 12 through Nov. 17, Sport Chalet customers will have the opportunity to donate $1 at the register to support the Children's Hospital Los Angeles, the local charity benefiting from the Hockey Fights Cancer campaign in Los Angeles. Customers can also purchase select Hockey Fights Cancer gear, with 10 percent of the proceeds from such purchases donated by Sport Chalet to the CHLA. Gear available to purchase at Sport Chalet includes the men's and women's Old Time Hockey LA Kings tees, as well as the Hockey Fights Cancer wristbands made by Fan Fever.
Additionally, Sport Chalet will donate $5,000 to the Kings Care Foundation, a non-profit children's charity of the LA Kings dedicated to providing children in the Greater Los Angeles area with educational and recreational opportunities.
