Spoonflower, Sprout Patterns translate multi-media art into modern garments
BERLIN, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On September 7, Spoonflower [http://www.spoonflower.com/], the custom, digital textile printing company, and Spoonflower's new independent cut and sew pattern brand, Sprout Patterns [https://sproutpatterns.com], are hosting Sprout x Berlin [https://sproutpatterns.com/berlin2016], an unusual fashion event showcasing multi media art translated into wearable, modern garments.
Traditionally, art has belonged on the wall––in museums and galleries. Sprout Patterns and Spoonflower are breaking that barrier by collaborating with an international cast of five artists residing in the creative city of Berlin. Their drawings, paintings and photos are now translated into a language easily understood: fashion.
"Berlin is filled with makers, artists and creatives of all kinds. We wanted to harness that range of creativity with a project that would highlight the work of artists who were not trained textile designers, and so Sprout x Berlin was born. The fashion show is also a celebration Spoonflower's new office in Berlin, which makes shipping Spoonflower orders to European customers dramatically faster," shares Allie Tate, marketing manager at Spoonflower GmbH.
Each look will be auctioned off after the fashion show and attendees will be given cards for 20% off and free shipping on online orders from Sprout Patterns.
