Comcast Corporation Research Reports
On September 3, 2014, Comcast Corporation (Comcast) announced that it has reached an agreement to make the Company's residential service brand XFINITY as the title sponsor of the NASCAR Nationwide Series for the next 10 years through 2024. The Company stated that the series will be known as the NASCAR XFINITY Series through 2024. XFINITY will be the series' third title sponsor after Anheuser-Busch, which sponsored the series for 26 years, and Nationwide Insurance, a sponsor for seven years. It further added that this term matches the longest single agreement around title sponsorship of any NASCAR national series in history. McDonald's Corp. Research Reports
On September 4, 2014, McDonald's Corp. (McDonald's) updated a media statement issued earlier to inform that seven of its restaurants in Moscow, Moscow region, Yekaterinburg, and Sochi in Russia are temporarily closed following the court's order based on claims from a federal consumer agency. The Company informed that the court has decided that six restaurants which are temporarily closed should remain temporarily closed for a further period, while one restaurant in Yekaterinburg awaits court decision. McDonald's said that it will appeal against the court's decision. According to a Reuters report dated August 27, 2014, the court orders came after a federal consumer agency conducted sweeping checks, including unscheduled inspections, at McDonald's restaurants across the country and found violation of sanitary rules. On August 27, 2014, Walmart Stores Inc. (Walmart) announced its commitment to further strengthen the sustainability of its global supply chain by advancing the energy efficiency of its China-based manufacturers. At the Walmart Supplier Summit in Shenzhen, the Company committed that suppliers representing 70% of Walmart's business sourced in China will be invited to participate in an energy efficiency program by the end of 2017.
