WILTON MANORS, Fla., May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- It's that festive time of year again when preparations for the Annual Wilton Manors Stonewall Street Festival and Parade are ramping up. This year's festival and parade, which takes place on Saturday June 20, 2015, offers numerous opportunities for individuals, businesses, nonprofits and elected officials to participate in the celebration.

"From setting up vendor booths, to walking in the parade or sponsoring the festival, there are opportunities for everyone to participate," said Wilton Manors Mayor Gary Resnick. "We are thrilled to be able to collaborate with our residents and business owners to host this monumental event that draws a diverse crowd of up to 30,000 individuals and families each year."
The 2015 Wilton Manors Stonewall Street Festival begins at 1 p.m. and continues until 11 p.m. with the parade starting at 6 p.m. Vendor booths, from local, regional and national businesses and nonprofits, food trucks and drink tents will line the length of Wilton Drive. The main stage, located at NE 6th Ave., will feature live performances.
Groups or individuals can register as vendors for the street festival or to participate in the parade. Spaces are limited and based on availability; so early registration is encouraged. Registration is now open and can be completed at http://www.wmeg.org.

In addition to the parade and live performances, the event will feature HIV/AIDS education and testing.
Parking for Stonewall will be $15 and will be available in the following lots:
- City Hall, 2020 Wilton Drive
- 8th Terrace Lot, Northeast 8th Terrace and Northeast 26th Street
- Municipal Complex, 2100 Dixie Highway
- Richardson Park, 1937 Wilton Drive
- Iberia Bank, 2465 Wilton Drive
- Fort Lauderdale High School, 1600 NE 4th Avenue
VIP passes will be good at all locations.
The festival is held in honor of the Stonewall Riots: a series of violent demonstrations staged by New York City's gay community on June 27, 1969, after they had grown tired of harassment from the New York Police Department. Each year, the City of Wilton Manors joins communities across the country to hold events that commemorate these riots.
